Scandals Presents: Bubba’s Country Fair

Scandals Saloon is very proud to partner with Broward House to present the 2nd annual Bubba’s Blue Ribbon Country Fair. The fun begins on Saturday, October 10th (11am to 10pm) and continues on Sunday, October 11th (11am to 7pm). Last year the event drew upwards of 2500 people and this year they are estimating over 3500 attendees will come to the fair, purchasing vendor products and having a “gay ole time.” I was at the event last year and not only was it super fun but it was a huge success. According to Ken Kelley & Lloyd Pagels (owners of Scandals & The Stable) “Last year’s attendance and comments from customers blew us way and we are striving to make this year’s fair even better. We are planning a few surprises including more fun and games as well as having true carnival food.”

The fair will consist of 20 vendor booths, 10 sponsored games, mechanical bull, dunk tank, 40 foot slide, funnel cakes, cotton candy and cooking contests (Chili cook-off, best of bbq, Bubba’s mom bubbles pie & cake bake offs, and their newest contest red neck funeral comfort casserole).

Admission to the fair is FREE. Tickets for the carnival games will be available for purchase if you choose to participate in the games. Price for the carnival game tickets are: $10 for 10 tickets, $25 for 30 tickets and $50 for 80 tickets. Keep in mind 100% of the proceeds generated from the games and the vendor booths will be donated directly to Broward House (BrowardHouse.org).

This year, due to the tremendous support of their sponsors (Presidente, 44 North Vodka, Three Olives Vodka, 1800 Tequila, and Hotspots Magazine) they are afforded the opportunity to substantially decrease this year’s booth rental to only $250 for the two day event.  This is a great opportunity to sell your product or services to a great audience.  At press time there were only 6 vendor spaces left. I am sure they will sell very fast, so if you are interested in purchasing a space call Howard at 954-296-9512. Some of the major vendors already on board are Pride Factory, Swiss Navy, Gateway Cinemas and the FGRA.

The Queen of Corn (hillbilly drag queens step to the front) and King of Cob contest will be held Friday night at the Niblet Court at the Stable as a prelude to the fair weekend. The contest categories will be Fashion and talent (if they find any that is).

There will be a huge tent in the center of the fairgrounds that will feature the entertainment and all the contests. Lady Fancy will be performing there on Saturday at 8pm and then again on Sunday at 5pm. In addition the surprise special guests, ok I am letting the cat out of the bag, is the fabulous duo of Dean and Lee.

So grab your overalls, your daisy dukes and your favorite country bumpkin and head on out to Bubba’s 2nd annual Country Fair as I promise you will have a hee-haw time!!
