Letter from the Publisher

It’s hard to imagine that Hotspots Magazine turns 25 this year. One thing is certain, Hotspots’ founder, Jason Bell, understood that our community needed a voice and created what has evolved into the longest running gay weekly magazine in America.

It’s hard to imagine that Hotspots Magazine turns 25 this year. One thing is certain, Hotspots’ founder, Jason Bell, understood that our community needed a voice and created what has evolved into the longest running gay weekly magazine in America.

Since becoming the new owner and publisher in 2008, I am proud to continue the legacy that began so long ago. Today we stand proud as the largest gay publication in Florida thanks to loyal readers like you, our advertising partners and our amazing staff.

As we look forward to the next 25 years, I recognize that our success can never be taken for granted – we have to constantly strive to keep ahead of the curve and at the same time provide our community the very best as the leading publication. Like many small businesses, we are only as good as the sum of our people who work tirelessly every week to keep Hotspots on top of its game. It is in that very spirit that I wish to take this opportunity to express my appreciation to the entire Hotspots family and our wonderful, vibrant gay community.

I am also very proud to announce the promotion of Scott Holland to Associate Publisher. Since re-joining Hotspots as Senior Editor, Scott has shared our vision for the future and has inspired everyone on board to be the best they can possibly be. Having acquired his MBA, Scott has brought a new level of expertise and energy to Hotspots. Scott understands that our customers’ success is our number one priority and is always willing to lend his expertise to anyone who asks.

I join everyone in the Hotspots family in congratulating Scott on his well-deserved promotion.

We look forward to the next 25 years together!
