johnnys-miami-1The ads have been running for months and everyone I talk to is curious about what Johnny’s Miami is going to be like. As Miami’s newest club gets ready for its grand opening I sat down with my good friend Sean David for a one on one interview for Hotspots Magazine.

How did you get into the Nightclub business?
11 years ago I decided to become a co-owner in the opening of the Boardwalk Fort Lauderdale. I always had the fascination to the bar business and I thought this would be the perfect foray into nightlife industry. It’s my passion, I love it.

When and why did you buy Johnny’s?
For many years I was a customer of Johnny’s and I thought that I could expand on its already successful formula. In March 2008, I bought Johnny’s from Johnny Moses (the original owner) and made it into the success that it is.

What made you decide to look for a second Johnny’s Location?
The concept of Johnny’s where I have strippers on one side and a club on the other is very exciting toe the customers and the concept is successful so I decided to expand to a 2nd city.

Why Miami and specifically why that area of Miami?
Because Miami is a big metropolitan city with many tourists and I realized there was a big need for an upscale dancer bar. Downtown Miami seemed to be the perfect place after 8 months of searching the entire Dade County due to parking, 18 and over is allowed and  its centrally located .

You have done a lot of remodeling to the location, what is it going to feel like on the inside?
The emphasis is on an upscale comfortable vibe where like you are going to feel like you are in your own home. I have brought in a state of the art sound and lighting system.

What’s going to be the difference between Johnny’s Fort Lauderdale and Johnny’s Miami?
The concept in Miami is that the dancers will be much more muscular and we have longer hours; till 5 am. Otherwise I am taking the winning formula that has made Fort Lauderdale so successful.

Tell us about the staff of Johnny’s Miami?
They are all hot and sexy with incredible personalities and their goal is to satisfy the customers.

What is your line-up going to be?
On the club side I have DJ Daisy Deadpetals on Thursdays with a college party where there will be special prices for college students. Friday night is Teen Night with DJ Miik and Saturday is the sounds of DJ T-Promix and Sundays we will be having an early T-dance with DJ Bill Hallquist. On the Stripper side I will feature some of the hottest men in south Florida taking it off for you 7 days a week 6pm to 4am. Wednesdays we will feature our Amateur Strip Contest with $1000 in cash and prizes and Saturdays Sol Delight hosts the Latin Flavor night. Stay tuned for the full line-up shortly after the club opens.

Any exciting things you have planned in the future?
I am working on a couple of events with MTV, LOGO and a local Latin Station. So stay tuned for some exciting details coming real soon. Make sure you are one of the first to see the New Johnny’s Miami (60 NE 14th Street, downtown Miami) in its opening weekend Thursday, June 23rd through Sunday June 26th and remember they will be featuring strip shows 7 days a week from 6 pm till 4 am.

Is it possible that President Barrack Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder Jr. read my recent article in Hotspots Magazine on why same-sex couples should be allowed to legally marry?
