Fort Lauderdale Gay and Lesbian Film Festival offers four days of exciting cutting-edge films and glamorous parties. In its third year, this event is a spin-off of the Miami Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. Whether you’re a major film buff or are just seeking a fun social event, you will find what you are looking for at this Festival.

On Thursday, Oct. 13, the event will begin with an opening party at 6 p.m. at Cinema Paradiso’s Courtyard with hors d’oeurves provided by The Manor and open bar provided by Chambord and Herradora. It will kick off with the film “Dirty Girl,” which follows a rebellious teen girl and her gay BFFs adventures in the late 1980s. This fun movie stars Mary Steenburgen, William H. Macy, Tim McGraw, Juno Temple and Jeremy Dozier.

Friday, Oct. 14

“The Green”

Michael and his partner Daniel move from New York City to the Connecticut Shoreline in search of a simpler life. Drama ensues when one of Michael’s high school students accuses him of inappropriate conduct.

“The Grove” is a documentary about AIDS, love and the politics of remembrance. “Life @ The End” is a documentary about people caring for their terminally ill loved ones in South Florida. Both are powerful films that will stick with you for a long time.
