HBO Presents the Third Annual Fort Lauderdale Gay and Lesbian Film Festival
Fort Lauderdale Gay and Lesbian Film Festival offers four days of exciting cutting-edge films and glamorous parties. In its third year, this event is a spin-off of the Miami Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. Whether you’re a major film buff or are just seeking a fun social event, you will find what you are looking for at this Festival.
On Thursday, Oct. 13, the event will begin with an opening party at 6 p.m. at Cinema Paradiso’s Courtyard with hors d’oeurves provided by The Manor and open bar provided by Chambord and Herradora. It will kick off with the film “Dirty Girl,” which follows a rebellious teen girl and her gay BFFs adventures in the late 1980s. This fun movie stars Mary Steenburgen, William H. Macy, Tim McGraw, Juno Temple and Jeremy Dozier.

Friday, Oct. 14
“Shahada”

This German film with English subtitles follows the lives of Arab immigrants in Germany and shows how they deal with their faith and each other.

This comedy follows Adam as he moves from New York to L.A. to follow his dreams to become an actor. Instead he gets a job as a production assistant for a gay porn company and gets caught up in a whole new world.

“The Green”

Michael and his partner Daniel move from New York City to the Connecticut Shoreline in search of a simpler life. Drama ensues when one of Michael’s high school students accuses him of inappropriate conduct.
“Tomboy”

This French drama with English subtitles follows 10-year-old Laure, a tomboy, on her move to a new neighborhood. She pretends she is a boy named Michael to her new group of friends in this drama and tries to hide her true identity.
“Buffering”

Couple Seb and Aaron are deep in debt. When Aaron loses his job, he sells the couple’s sex life online without telling Seb. Seb learns the truth and goes along with it. This dramatic film takes place in London in the 1940s and follows Kay, Helen, Viv and Duncan as they explore their sexuality and make peace with their pasts so they can move into their futures.
