Think of your Honeymoon as your little reward for getting through the pressures and details of your wedding. Honeymoons like weddings come in all “shapes and sizes” you can choose to have a romantic beach escape, an active outdoor journey or even a staycation; whichever you choose just remember this is the time to enjoy each other and tune the rest of the world out.

As you decide on your honeymoon plans, ask yourself these questions to help plan:

Set your budget.

Remember your just spent money on a wedding and now have your whole lives together, set a budget that is realistic and comfortable.

What’s your style?

Do you want formal or casual? Beach or city? Resort or rustic? Planes, boats, trains or automobile?

Where do you (both) want to go?

This is something you must agree on, this is the time that you get to celebrate each other. Remember to get passports and immunizations of needed.

Is it Gay friendly?

This is something to consider (more than on most trips). Your honeymoon is not the time to make a political point, it’s a time that should be used enjoying each other.

In today’s fast-paced internet savvy world, I suggest going an old fashion route when it comes to your Honeymoon; a travel professional. Although independent research is still vital, you and your partner will be so busy planning your wedding that the travel details are best left to a professional who will ensure that everything is covered. (Keep in mind, most travel professionals do NOT cost you anything, they make there monies from the properties and airlines direct).
