Mexico Raises The Caribbean Heat with Gay Party Week

By Jeffrey Tomasulo

Riviera Maya will close out the gay summer this Labor Day with its Mexican beach bash, Caribbean Heat.

Taking place Friday, August 31st thru Thursday, September 6th, the celebration will feature over thirteen dance parties at the Adonis Gay Beach Resort: a spot renowned for its turquoise water, beautiful white sandy beaches, and rugged cliffs.  Additionally, ancient Mayan ruins including Chichen Itza, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, are mere steps away.

“Caribbean Heat was created to be an adventurous festival celebration where after partying the days and nights away, guys can soak in the sun and tour ancient Mayan archeological sites,” explains event founder Oliver Stevanovic.

Mexico has been a leader in gay civil rights. It’s capital, Mexico City, was the first district in Latin America to legalize same-sex marriage. The state of Quinta Roo – consisting of the world famous city of Cancún, the islands of Cozumel and Isla Mujeres, as well as Riviera Maya where Caribbean Heat will be held – is about to legalize same-sex marriage too.

“The people of Riviera Maya are friendly and welcoming to gay travelers,” continues Stevanovic. “They understand what pride is because they feel it for their city. They want to impress travelers with the majesty of Riviera Maya and share their delicious Mexican cuisine.”

The Adonis Gay Beach Resort is a luxury spa resort that stands directly in front of the world´s second largest barrier reef. All hotel rooms are meticulously decorated to create a tranquil atmosphere of elegance and comfort, with balconies that offer pristine views of the Caribbean Sea.

The Caribbean Heat week will launch with the Yang pool party, a white party event.  The next evening’s event will be the Ying party, a black event luring men into a Mexican den of sin and iniquity.

Festivities continue with Monday’s Manhunt Party, sponsored by the world’s leading hook-up site for gay men.

“There will be live acts and shows, go-go dancers, and an amazing last night´s fireworks display,” adds Stevanovic.  “The entire week will be an unforgettable experience and a fitting farewell to summer 2012.”

Daily all-inclusive VIP passes (including all meals, snacks and beverages) are available now for $120.00.  Caribbean Heat offers five-nights/six-days (valid from August 31st until September 5th) and seven-nights/eight-days packages.  There is also a Group Housing option starting at $670 (all inclusive + VIP Pass) for single travelers who would like to save by sharing a triple or double room with another attendee. Group housing accommodations are assigned by event organizers, taking special consideration of participants’ preferences.
