And now to the show that I personally cannot wait to see – The Carrie Diaries! What was Sex and the City’s Carrie Bradshaw like as a teenager? We can now find out (well, I already know, as I am not only obsessed with television, I am an avid reader of Candace Bushnell’s The Carrie Diaries last year). The show will give us a glimpse into how Carrie became so fabulous.

The Following

winter tv do no harmThe Following was created by Kevin Williamson of Dawson Creek and The Vampire Diaries fame and stars another famous Kevin – Kevin Bacon. The suspenseful series follows Bacon as a former FBI agent who learns about a network of serial killers who are being led by a killer he once caught (played by James Purefoy) and has since escaped. This show was the buzz of ComiCon and if you have seen the commercials you will be glued to your TV like I will be.

This crime drama originally starred Ryan Phillipe who backed out due to commitment issues (cut to Reese Witherspoon rolling her eyes and nodding emphatically). Chi McBride (who has been in EVERYTHING, seriously, google him) also stars.

winter tv Red widowRed Widow

In addition to these exciting new shows, Fox and ABC will premiere competing shows about reality stars belly flopping for our entertainment. Stars in Danger: The High Dive starts on Jan. 9 on Fox and Celebrity Diving begins on March 19 on ABC.

Of course, some longtime favorites will return as well including American Idol (Jan. 16) and Smash (Feb. 5), both on FOX. The drama between AI judges Nicki Minaj and Mariah has already started, so you know it will be a good season. Plus J-Hud (that’s Jennifer Hudson to the rest of you) will be joining the cast of Smash.

Get that DVR ready—the fun is about to begin!
