For weeks now, we have asked you to vote on who you think is the hottest movie star on the planet. Now that May is here, it’s time for us to announce that a clear winner has emerged.
With more than 21% of the vote, Channing Tatum has run away with the competition. 21% may not sound like a runaway but it is when you figure that there were 22 movie stars entered in the contest.
Perhaps it’s because of his amazing acting prowess that Tatum won, but it stands to reason that his role in last summer’s big screen hit Magic Mike certainly gave him the competitive edge, especially among our voters. As we all know, Channing Tatum is very easy on the eyes, and having made a movie where he spends much of his on screen time with no shirt on really has motivated Hotspots’ readers to vote him the Hottest Movie Star on the planet. It wasn’t his acting prowess that really impressed viewers in Magic Mike, it was his moves, who said white men can’t dance?
The race for second place was very tight all along, and in the end, we have a tie between Hugh Jackman and Shemar Moore who finished with 9% of the vote. Jackman has had a great 2013 so far, garnering an Oscar nomination as well as winning the Golden Globe Award for his role as Jean Valjean in the 2012 blockbuster Les Misérables.
Shemar Moore is best known for his role in Tyler Perry’s “Diary of a Mad Black Woman” but should be better known for his 6 pack and amazing body. Like Jackman and Tatum, he was certainly blessed with good looks, and he can act too.
