revol_banRevolution’s 6th Anniversary Celebration
A Week of Theme Nights, Parties and Concerts

by Mike Halterman

Revolution Nightclub in Orlando (375 S. Bumby Ave.) is celebrating its sixth anniversary in business starting the week of November 11. To show the public how thankful the Revolution family is for keeping them open these last six years, five different theme nights promise to entice various segments of their clientele and keep everyone happy. When I was informed about the anniversary week events, I was told that Revolution highly values its diverse customer base.

The first event of the week will be held on Tuesday, November 12 and will feature the staff of Revolution in a turnabout show. Proceeds will benefit The Barber Fund, which helps people living with cancer. Doors will open at 8 p.m. and the turnabout show will start at 10 p.m. On Wednesday, November 13, “Wild Wednesdays” will feature a drag show hosted by Samantha Stone with cast members Chevelle “Boom Boom” Brooks, Natasha Stone, and special guest Sasha Colby, a crowd-pleaser at Revolution who has won many pageants, including Miss Continental 2012. This exciting show will start at midnight.

Van Gogh Vodkas sponsors “Dress to Impress: The Masquerade Ball,” presented by Blaze Adonis, on Thursday, November 14. Cash and prizes will be given to the people deemed to have the best costumes and masks. Alongside this event is the fundraiser “Cocktails Against Prejudice,” with proceeds being donated to Cyndi Lauper’s True Colors Foundation. There is no cover for people 18 and up who have their college ID handy, and no cover for 21 and up. There will be a show at 12:30 with the Majestic Theater’s Thursday players, including Axel Andrews, Maya Andrews, Kai’Ja Adonis, Kitana Gemini and Sasha Colby.

On Friday, November 15, Fuego Fridays hosts a party called “Latin Pride,” with DJs playing some very spicy salsa, merengue, Latin house and reggaeton. Finally, on Saturday, November 16, there will be a live concert featuring singer and songwriter Jen Foster, starting at 9 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at TicketLeap.com.

Special guests will be announced for some of the theme nights closer to the actual anniversary celebrations. To keep up with the latest announcements, go to RevolutionOrlando.com.
