Promising to be the next classic from Disney Pictures, the live-action film Maleficent, with Angelina Jolie in the title role, is making its way to movie theaters across Florida and nationwide on Friday, May 30. Angelina Jolie, in addition to acting in the film, also serves as executive producer.

Have you ever wondered the backstory behind the villain featured in the Disney classic Sleeping Beauty? The film Maleficent tells this story in great detail. Angelina Jolie is introduced into the film as we see her character trying her hardest to keep control of the moors where she lives. Driven by a need to protect her land and pangs of imminent threat, Maleficent places a curse on the king’s baby daughter Aurora, a curse that can’t ever be taken back. Aurora grows into a teenager and realizes that she has to choose between the forests and greenery that gave her so much joy and the human kingdom which she, in time, will have to inherit. Maleficent realizes that Aurora may be the missing piece in the puzzle that, if solved, could mean peace for the moors and for the humans. She takes matters into her own hands, altering the fate of their lives and the world forever.

Angelina Jolie revealed to E! Online that it took makeup artists and costumers two and a half mal_2hours every day to transform her into Maleficent for the cameras. Co-stars Elle Fanning and Sam Riley have nothing but great things to say about Jolie. “We had the best time. I really love her,” Fanning said to V Magazine. “I mean, she looks unbelievably gorgeous and elegant, and she’s playing evil! She has horns.” Angelina Jolie fought to have Sam Riley included in this film, and he was very grateful. Talking to GQ Magazine, he related the time he met the actress. “She came in the room with a big, beaming smile.
