AUGUST 14-16

Classic Albums Live believes in “getting it right.” The men and women behind this concert series focus on performing popular music’s most beloved albums as faithfully as possible, down to the right note and the right sounds. They want you to believe you’re listening to the CD in your car, but no — you’re listening to a professional orchestra.

This month Classic Albums Live, a Toronto-based group under the tutelage of musician Craig Martin, is heading down to Florida for three shows. The album they will be performing here is Elton John’s Greatest Hits, and they can be seen at the Parker Playhouse in Fort Lauderdale on Thursday, August 14; at The Lakeland Center in Lakeland on Friday, August 15; and at the Maxwell C. King Center for the Performing Arts in Melbourne on Saturday, August 16.

Elton John’s Greatest Hits was originally released in November 1974. It was the first greatest hits album for the famously flamboyant English singer-songwriter, and was a great success commercially, becoming his first album to earn a diamond certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (indicating sales of over 10 million). The ten-track album includes such well-known hits as “Your Song,” “Crocodile Rock,” “Rocket Man” and “Bennie and the Jets.” In addition to performing these ten songs, Classic Albums Live will end their show by performing more well-known hits of Elton John’s that were released post-1974.

All three performances start seating at 7 p.m. for showtime at 8 p.m. Ticket prices range from $25 to $49 for the Fort Lauderdale appearance, while VIP tickets are $69. You can buy from every price range by ordering online at or by calling (954) 462-0222. For the Lakeland appearance, there will be a pre-show hosted by Max 98.3 thirty minutes before the show starts. Lakeland ticket prices range from $27 to $36 and you can buy your tickets online at or by calling (863) 834-8100. Tickets for the Melbourne appearance range from $24.75 to $29.75 and can be purchased by going to or by calling (321) 242-2219.

Classic Albums Live tours across the United States and Canada playing a variety of popular music’s best-loved albums. They will return to Florida in September, at which time they will be performing Prince’s “Purple Rain” album. To learn more, visit
