BUCS AND DOLPHINS HOST “LGBT-INCLUSIVE FAN EVENTS”

AUGUST 28 AND SEPTEMBER 14

Michael Sam energized the LGBT community and the sports world when he became the first out gay football player to be signed to an NFL team. Now, as his team, the St. Louis Rams, comes to Florida for two consecutive games, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Miami Dolphins, the Rams’ respective opponents, want to cement its commitment to all of its fans, including fans from the LGBT community.

RAMS VS. BUCCANEERS

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be hosting an LGBT-driven event, inclusive of all fans and family-friendly, before and during the September 14 matchup against the Rams at Raymond James Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 4:05 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in bulk if interested groups and organizations wish; the first 20 groups of 50 or more will receive 10 complimentary T-shirts provided by Barefoot Refresh, and each adult will receive a $10 concession voucher. Groups of like-minded fans will be sat together whenever possible. Tickets range from $40 in the upper level to $130 in Stadium Club. There will also be an LGBT-inclusive tailgate in Lot 14 from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. People are encouraged to bring their own food and drinks to the tailgate. The Buccaneers, the You Can Play Project, Barefoot Refresh and MBA Orlando will all have booths set up and will be hosting giveaways and fun activities. For each ticket purchased, $5 will be donated to the You Can Play project, aimed at wiping out homophobia in sports.
