Open Auditions September 9, Placements on September 11 and 13

The Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida is celebrating five years of sharing its message of unity, cheer and inspiration through song with the Broward County LGBT community, and now they want you to join them in their mission. There is a rehearsal coming up that is open to all prospective singers. If you are interested, please call (954) 763-2266 and express your interest, then meet the current singers at an open rehearsal which will be held at Sunshine Cathedral (1480 SW 9th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale).

The point of this open rehearsal is to recruit permanent singers for the upcoming season. Auditions and voice placements for this season will occur at Sunshine Cathedral on Thursday, September 11 at 7 p.m., and on Saturday, September 13 at 10 a.m. People who are wishing to become full-time members of the Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida must fill out an application online; interested applicants can register at gmcsf.org. Over the last five years, the Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida’s vision has been “to inspire audiences, move spirits, open minds and change hearts through the quality of our music, the power of our words and the sight of our joy.” The theme of the Chorus’s holiday concert, coming up in December, is very apropos considering their vision: it will be called “Comfort and Joy.” Ticket information will be announced via facebook in the fall, please “like” them on facebook for the latest updates by going to facebook.com/gmcsf. Concert dates will be at Sunshine Cathedral on December 12, 13, 19 and 20 at 8 p.m. on all four days.
