Llegando a Uruguay
El aeropuerto internacional de Montevideo se llama Aeropuerto de Carrasco y hay vuelos diarios de American Airlines directo desde Miami. Otra opción es tomar un vuelo a Buenos Aires, la capital de Argentina y desde allí puedes tomar un barco a varios puertos uruguayos. También puedes llegar a Montevideo desde las ciudades principales de Brasil, opción que puede ser más barato debido a la multitud de vuelos desde el sur de la Florida.

The Oriental Republic of Uruguay, the official name of the country, has become a mecca of LGBT tourism. This country of nearly four million people is a global leader in equality and is definitely one of the most liberal countries in South America. Known for its beautiful beaches and colonial architecture, Uruguay has recognized that everyone should have the right to happiness and should be protected by its laws.
LGBT History
Uruguay has protected its LGBT Community for more than a decade. In 2003, lawmakers passed anti-discrimination laws protecting the gay community. It became the first country in all of the Americas to pass a law recognizing Civil Unions for the LGBT community in 2008. Last year, in 2013, Uruguayans took the final step towards equality when marriage equality laws were passed and marriage became legal for everyone. This month, the 4th International LGBT Tourism Conference will take place in the capital city of Montevideo. There is even a group of LGBT and LGBT friendly businesses called the LGBT Table (Mesa) which is part of the Montevideo Chamber of Commerce. This group is dedicated to providing LGBT tourists a professional and personalized service to make their experience in this country unforgettable.
Getting to Uruguay
The international airport in Montevideo is called Carrasco Airport and there are daily nonstop flights to and from Miami. Another option is to fly to nearby Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina and take a ferry to several ports in Uruguay. You could also get to Montevideo from the main cities in Brazil, which could be a cheaper option since there are more flight choices to Brazil from South Florida.

Colonia del Sacramento- The oldest city
Colonia del Sacramento is a small city with a big history. During colonial times, this city changed hands several times between the Spanish and the Portuguese. With its historic neighborhood, the city, along the shores of the Rio de la Plata, is a tourist area that you will not want to miss. Visit several museums, the light house, or the Portón del Campo, the old city gate. The entire city is has been dedicated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
