Celebrity Comic ANT to be Awards Ceremony Emcee

Who will be the top five finalists in each of 20 hospitality-related categories for the second Annual “Pink Flamingo Awards?” Find out when the LGBT Visitor Center unveils the top vote-getters at a Kick-Off Party on Friday, August 29, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., at Palace South Beach, 1200 Ocean Drive. Miss Miami Beach Gay Pride 2014 TP Lords will host the event and announce the finalists surrounded by sexy “Pink Flaminguys” outfitted in pink Speedos. The Palace will also donate proceeds from vodka cocktail purchases back to the LGBT Visitor Center.

The finalists will be determined by write-in nominations from the community as well as tourists who visit here, said Lori Lynch, executive director of the LGBT Visitor Center. The “People’s Choice”-style awards recognize the people and places that have helped make Miami Beach a world-class city and travel destination. Once the finalists are announced, voting will begin immediately for the winners at pinkflamingoawards.com. Kick-Off Party attendees can even vote from the event on their mobile devices, Lynch added.

The award winners will be announced at a reception and dinner party on Tuesday, September 23, at the Miami Beach Convention Center with celebrity stand-up comedian ANT emceeing the high-spirited evening affair.

Known for his hyper, irreverent ANTics, the comedian known as ANT rocketed into popular culture as a contestant on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing.” Since the show, he has hosted VH1’s “Celebrity Fit Club” and starred in the LOGO series “U.S. of ANT.” He has also appeared on numerous episodes of the “Tonight Show” and “The Howard Stern Radio Show,” plus guest starred on shows such as “America’s Next Top Model,” “Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D List,” “The Jamie Foxx Show,” “Gene Simmons: Family Jewels,” and “The Tyra Banks Show,” among many others.

“No one will know what hit them with ANT as our awards ceremony emcee,” Lynch said. “No one will be safe from his satire and quick wit. No one.”

In addition to what promises to be an ANTastic evening, the second annual “Pink Flamingo Awards” will include an open bar cocktail reception; a silent auction; a three-course, seated dinner; and additional live entertainment. Tickets are $75 per person and are on sale now at pinkflamingoawards.com.

Proceeds from the “Pink Flamingo Awards” benefit the LGBT Visitor Center which welcomes thousands of international visitors throughout the year and serves as a major hub of activity for the local community. The Visitor Center is funded and operated by the MDGLCC Foundation, Inc., the non-profit foundation of the Miami-Dade Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce.
