One Night Only at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater
Saturday, November 8
Comedy’s lovable “Queen of Mean,” Lisa Lampanelli, is coming back to Florida! One year after she did a one-night-only show in Hollywood, she’s coming back, again for one night only, and this time in Central Florida. She will be performing her hilarious brand of comedy, for which she was nominated for a Grammy Award, at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater on Saturday, November 8. Showtime is 8 p.m.
Lisa Lampanelli has been performing stand-up comedy for nearly 25 years. Always racy, mostly controversial, but totally funny, Lisa Lampanelli has been described as “a cross between Don Rickles, Archie Bunker, and a vial of estrogen” and by Howard Stern as “a true original and a brilliant comedy mind who’ll steal the show every time.” She is well-known for her participation in the New York Friars Club Roasts, where she was the only female to “roast” Chevy Chase. She was also mistress of ceremonies at the Roast of Larry the Cable Guy. She has participated in nearly a dozen Friars Club Roasts in as many years.
Lisa Lampanelli is also a noted advocate for the gay community and for HIV/AIDS research. In 2011, she turned the tables on Westboro Baptist Church when she donated $44,000 to the Gay Men’s Health Crisis ($1,000 for every protester who showed up to picket her show in Topeka, Kansas, where Westboro is based). In 2012, she appeared on Celebrity Apprentice, and as a final four contestant, she earned $100,000 in donations, which she gave to the Gay Men’s Health Crisis.
