Performing at Hard Rock Live Hollywood

Wednesday, November 5

Hard Rock CafeUnforgettable, that’s what she is. Natalie Cole has been delighting music lovers for nearly 40 years, and South Florida gets a chance to see her live very soon! She will be performing at Hard Rock Live Hollywood (1 Seminole Way, Hollywood) on Wednesday, November 5 at 8 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m. and showtime is at 8 p.m.

Natalie Cole is the daughter of the legendary singer Nat King Cole. She started singing at the age of six and went on to form her own rock band while in college at the University of Massachusetts. Many record labels listened to her and turned her down, expecting more of the slow standards her father recorded, and not songs with R&B and rock influences. Capitol Records took a chance on her, and they released her debut album, Inseparable, in 1975. She saw two of her songs rise to #1 on the R&B charts, the eponymous “Inseparable” and “This Will Be (an Everlasting Love).” She also earned two Grammy Awards, including one for Best New Artist. Her albums Unpredictable (1977) and Thankful (1977) were her first two to be certified platinum.

After a period of personal troubles for Cole, she forged a comeback in 1987 with the album Everlasting, which produced the hit singles “Jump Start,” “Pink Cadillac,” and “I Live For Your Love.” Her 1991 album Unforgettable… with Love would become the most successful album in her repertoire, going seven times platinum. It was well-remembered for the single “Unforgettable,” originally a song her father had popularized. In this version she sang a duet with a video and audio recording of her father (who had died in 1965). The single would win her three Grammy Awards. In her nearly 40-year career, Natalie Cole has released 21 albums, her most recent consisting of tracks sung entirely in Spanish. Cole has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide.
