Originally from Macon, Georgia, Toni now calls Sarasota, Florida his home. Toni is one of those wonderful people who is always in a great mood and having fun. His favorite pastime is having his photo taken with HOT guys! You just gotta love that!

The craziness of the 84-year-old evangelist Pat Robertson is reaching the demented state. CNN anchor Anderson Cooper called out the far right “700 Club” TV host about his comments regarding “[having] to be careful not to catch AIDS on the towels [in Kenya].”
“These people (homosexuals) are terrorists, they’re radicals, and they’re extremists,” the elder Christian conservative self-made millionaire profiteer proclaimed. Then he called out Houston Mayor Annise Parker for being a homosexual! Crazy, that was one of the points that Houston voters already knew about the classy city leader.
A new landscape change is in the works for GaYBOR/Ybor City. There are plans for a new 184-room, four-story hotel in the old Czar building and parking lot on 7th Avenue and 14th Street. We have heard of other hotels coming to Tampa and Ybor City and they have left only memories! Just sayin’.
Guavaween was held on a smaller scale in historic Ybor City at the Cuban Club and parking lot and had a great turnout. Also, all the merchants in Ybor City had a great weekend welcoming visiting and spending customers. Fantasma is a new Halloween venture which is sponsored by the two-year-old Ybor Merchants Association. There was bed racing on 7th Avenue and a “great pumpkin patch” for kids and families in the Centro Ybor plaza.
Hey, Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi is not giving up on stopping marriage equality in Florida even though the Florida Federal District Courts said they should begin. Oh, Pam!

St. Pete’s New LGBT Welcome Center Opens
The doors are OPEN! This is the third LGBT welcome center in United States. This two-year project has had a lot of community volunteer hours and sweat put into this relocated house. The new LGBT Welcome Center will provide meeting and event space, a coffeehouse, a safe place for youth, travel resources, diversity training and more. The center will also house office space for the Grand Central District staff. The St. Petersburg LGBT Welcome Center is located at 2227 Central Avenue. Stop by and visit.
NOT in Florida!
This week there was a nice lesbian couple in our store. They told us that they were legally married in their home state up north. The two were coming home from a trip to South America. At customs in Miami, they watched as married couples walked up to the custom agents together. Then the two of them walked up together. The agent told them “one at a time.” The couple said, “We are legally married.” The agent said “NOT in Florida! Now get back behind that line or I will call security.”
