Most of you (like me) are probably still salivating over the hot model on the cover and are itching to know more about him. Well, here goes…Marco Da Silva is a successful dancer, choreographer and model with a huge passion for music.
In 2008, after making an incredible name for himself as a commercial dancer and choreographer for several major celebrities such as Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue, Avril Lavigne, Mariah Carey and George Michael, Marco decided to turn his passion for house music into a new challenge and career. Being mentored by top DJ Peter Rauhofer, Marco bought professional DJ decks and worked hard to teach himself how to spin his records. He took the same sexy urban edge from his moves and created a personal sound he describes as “dirty beats.” In 2009, Marco officially launched his DJ career.
Shortly thereafter, Marco was booked to play at Matinee Circuit Party in Barcelona 2009 (the biggest gay circuit festival in the world, with over 30,000 people in attendance) and was made a resident DJ by Circuit after his successful set. In November 2009, Marco had his North American debut, opening with a five-hour set for Peter Rauhofer at Peter’s WORK Party during the 25th annual White Party Weekend at Cameo.
2010 was the year Marco showed the whole world he was a star DJ. He wowed crowds at the Roseland Ballroom for Gay Pride New York and at the AmFar Gala Awards in New York and Los Angeles. He became the favorite DJ for high-fashion designer D2squared’s events. The list goes on: he played Nevermind in Sydney, four nights at Circuit 2010 in Barcelona, the world-famous club “The Week” in Rio de Janeiro, and many more top events.
Marco was signed by Peter Rauhofer’s label “Star69” and released his first compilation called “M”, available on Beatport. His exclusive looks and personal touch in his work, a huge fan base, and a clear passion for life that can be felt in his beats, are all things that have made Marco highly recognizable.
Since 2010, he has traveled all over the world playing his unique sound. His next stop is at Score on Saturday, November 15th, starting at 10 p.m.
Joining Marco will be dance singer/songwriter Maya Simantov. Maya was born and raised in Bat Yam, Israel. She began to pursue her dreams of becoming a singer at the age of two. Over the past few years, Maya has proven to be a musical asset with magnificent talent as a singer, songwriter, lyricist and composer. Having established a successful music career in Israel, Maya had life-long dreams of international recognition. Ever since Maya was a young aspiring artist, she had been inspired by legendary artists such as Elvis Presley, Chaka Khan, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, and others.
In 2002, destiny brought Maya together with a well-known and talented Israeli producer named Yinon Yahel. The two met at a the studio of a mutual friend, Yossi Sidi, and began working together immediately. The recording of their first song took hardly any time at all. Shortly thereafter, Yinon Yahel introduced Maya to the world-renowned recording artist, producer and DJ, Offer Nissim. The trio worked together very closely and achieved major success for her as one of Israel’s most anticipated performers and recording artists. Maya’s dance album “First Time” received acknowledgment as one of Israel’s all-time best dance albums. Maya’s series of hits astonished her fellow Israeli listeners and her fan base grew each and every day.
Maya succeeded in exciting her audiences with every performance and caught the attention of many internationally known DJs, producers and executives, including that of Grammy Award-winning producer and owner of Star69 Records, Peter Rauhofer. Not long after Maya and Peter met, the “trio” of Offer Nissim, Yinon Yahel and Maya recorded a full album which was released by Star69 Records. In 2005, Maya reached the top of many music charts across the U.S. with songs like “Searching,” which entered the Top 25 on the Billboard pop chart, and “First Time,” which charted in the Top Ten on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart. Maya’s sweet and soulful voice rewarded her with invitations to perform internationally, including in Asia, Europe, South America and the United States.
Today Maya continues to strive towards her dreams of becoming a successful international recording artist. As a young girl growing up with inspirations that kept her strong, Maya hopes to inspire millions in the future.
