The Annual South Beach Comedy Festival returns to Miami Beach Wednesday, April 8th to Saturday, April 11th, for another fantastic comedy event featuring some of the world’s funniest entertainers. Now in its tenth year, the South Beach Comedy Festival continues to solidify its place as one of the premier comedy festivals for top comedic talent and fans across the SOBEComedy_copy1country.

On Thursday, April 9th at 7:30 p.m., Patton Oswalt takes the stage at the Fillmore Miami Beach. Patton continues to find success in all areas of entertainment, from his Grammy-nominated comedy albums to his many memorable guest roles on his favorite TV shows (including Parks and Recreation, for which he received a TV Critics Choice Award). Additionally he has appeared on Justified, Two and a Half Men, Portlandia, and Burn Notice and also voiced characters on The Simpsons and Bob’s Burgers.

With sold out shows coast to coast on his current tour, Dave Chappelle now returns to the intimate Fillmore Miami Beach as part of the South Beach Comedy Festival. His show is scheduled for Thursday, April 9th at 10:30 p.m.

Bill Burr performs Friday, April 10th at 8 p.m. on the main stage at the Fillmore Miami Beach. Having first gained notoriety for his recurring role on the second season of Chappelle’s Show, Bill developed a comedic style of uninformed logic that has made him a regular with Letterman, Conan O’Brien and Jimmy Fallon. One of the most popular comedy podcasts on the web, Bill’s Monday Morning Podcast, is an off- the-cuff weekly rant that has become a fan favorite. Bill began the podcast in May of 2007 and has produced over 350 episodes.

SOBEComedy_copy2Mark Normand appears Friday, April 10th at 8 p.m. in the Gleason Room Backstage at the Fillmore. Mark is a biting, smart comedian based in New York City. Mark was a semifinalist on NBC’s Last Comic Standing, his Comedy Central Presents: THE HALF HOUR special premiered last year, and his debut CD Still Got It was released last summer. Mark now does comedy clubs and colleges across the country and has been involved in many festivals and was featured as a New Face at the Montreal Comedy Festival, where he recorded a set for Canadian TV.

Hannibal Buress holds court on Saturday, April 11th at 8 p.m. at the Fillmore Miami Beach. Hannibal is a wildly popular Emmy and WGA Award nominated comedian, writer and actor who The New York Times praises as having an “irresistible” comedic presence that lands squarely between “cerebral and swagger.” He is a cast member on the hit Comedy Central series Broad City and is the co-host of Adult Swim’s The Eric Andre Show. Hannibal’s highly-rated second hour standup special Hannibal Buress Live from Chicago recently premiered on Comedy Central. He has written for NBC’s Saturday Night Live as well as 30 Rock, where he also appeared on camera several times.

Michael Yo performs Saturday, April 11th at 8 p.m. in the Gleason Room Backstage at the Fillmore. The self-proclaimed “Half-Black Brother with a Korean Mother,” was born and raised in Houston and got his radio start in Austin at the popular central-Texas station, 96.7. He also worked in radio in Houston before moving to his other “hometown” of Miami, where he manages to stay dedicated to his Michael Yo Show on Miami’s Y100. Michael made his debut on E! in 2008 as a Host and Reporter for E! News. Michael was a regular panelist on Chelsea Lately’s round table and he can still be seen on EXTRA.

Just added to the South Beach Comedy Festival for Saturday night, April 11th in the Gleason Room Backstage at the Fillmore, it’s The Have-Nots Comedy Presents Esther Ku (MTV, Howard Stern, Last Comic Standing). From their underdog beginnings in dive bars to being named “Best Comedy Venue” by Miami New Times, The Have-Nots continue their comedic rise by keeping their fans at the heart of everything they do. Esther Ku is an internationally touring stand-up comedian originally from Chicago. She is currently on The Jack and Triumph Show sitcom alongside the legendary Triumph the Insult Comic Dog and hilarious Jack McBrayer on Adult Swim.

And once again, Mad Cat Theatre Company kicks off the Festival for the fifth time on Wednesday, April 8th at 8:30 p.m. in the Gleason Room Backstage at the Fillmore with their production of Earthquake. Can an artist survive in a world fueled by personal gain and greed? Or will he just swim in stride with the sharks? Earthquake may just shake up Broadway after all. This is a fundraiser for the Company.
