Rock legend Pat Benatar and her husband and guitarist Neil Giraldo are celebrating 35 years in the music business by touring the United States and bringing fans the hits we loved then and still love today. Their 35th Anniversary Tour brings them to Florida this month, making three stops along the way. The first is at The Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg, where they will be performing on Tuesday, May 19 at 7:30 p.m. Then they go on to Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, performing on Thursday, May 21 at 8 p.m. Finally, they will be a part of a big concert in downtown Orlando, organized by WMMO-FM 98.9. That concert begins at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 23.
Neil Giraldo has been the lead guitarist in Pat Benatar’s band since 1979. They fell in love and were married in 1982, and since then the two have shared top billing at Pat’s concerts. Pat’s debut album In the Heat of the Night was released in 1979 and yielded the hit single “Heartbreaker.” Her 1980 LP Crimes of Passion brought us the classic rock hits “Hit Me with Your Best Shot” and “Hell is for Children,” and also earned Pat a Grammy Award. Her 1982 LP Get Nervous produced a Top 20 single, “Shadows of the Night.” Her next two albums, Live from Earth and Tropico, went platinum, and the singles “Love is a Battlefield” and “We Belong” hit the Billboard Top Ten. Throughout her 35-year career, she has released 11 studio albums, sold over 12 million copies, and won four Grammy Awards.
