The South Florida Symphony, under the creative direction of Maestra Sebrina Maria Alfonso, will be closing out their 2015-16 Chamber Music Series with a concert performance called “Russian Soul.” You won’t have to wait until fall to participate in another South Florida Symphony activity, though; you can join the Maestra herself on a special eight-day cruise called “Melodies of the Danube.”
First, the Symphony will close out the season with a concert called “Russian Soul.” Featured artist and pianist Svetlana Smolina, alongside various members of the Symphony, will perform some of the best-remembered classical numbers written by the most famous Russian composers. The sensual and heartwarming trios from Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninov will be performed for your enjoyment at this concert. This concert will be performed only twice, first at the Leiser Opera Center in Fort Lauderdale on Tuesday, July 14, and then at the Studios of Key West on Friday, July 17. For both concert dates there will be a 7 p.m. reception followed by a concert at 7:30. Tickets are $35 per person in Fort Lauderdale and $30 in Key West ($35 for reserved seating). You can buy your tickets by going online to southfloridasymphony.org/the-sfso-chamber-series.
