If you thought the winter was the only time gays left South Florida to take a trip to Central America and the Caribbean, think again. A few issues back, we profiled a number of gay cruises that were leaving Florida ports this summer. Two more cruises have been announced in the meantime, both leaving from the Port of Miami. Let me tell you about them.

Big Bear Retreats CruiseGayCruises_copy1

Big Bear Retreats, based in Metro Atlanta, will set sail on the Carnival Victory from the Port of Miami on August 13, with hundreds of bears and their admirers ready for a five-day, four-night party. The cruise will make two stops, one in Key West and one in Cozumel, Mexico. After a day at sea, the Victory will dock back in Miami on August 17. There will be lots of fun activities for the group on-board, such as special theme nights in the ship nightclubs, pool parties, and a special tour of Cozumel (optional).

Inside cabins, oceanview cabins and oceanview cabins with balconies are available by request only. Passports are not required for this trip, but they are highly recommended. With the cruise coming up so soon, payment will need to be made in full upon reservation. To find out pricing based on occupancy and room size, call Jamal Guiden at Prestige Travel, (770) 396-7188, or e-mail him at jamal@travelprestige.com.

Absolute Cruise and Travel, a full-service LGBT-friendly travel agency located in Southern New Jersey, is organizing a dedicated all-LGBT cruise aboard the Norwegian Sky. It will leave the Port of Miami on August 17, with three stops in the Bahamas: Nassau, Freeport, and the Norwegian Cruise Lines-owned private island of Great Stirrup Cay. Make new friends on the ship and tour the Bahamas together, and end the trip with a relaxing day on the ship’s very own private beach GayCruises_copy3on Great Stirrup Cay.

Inside cabins, oceanview cabins, and cabins with balconies are available for purchase. Pricing ranges from $671 to $941 for the trip, based on double occupancy. If you are traveling as a single occupant, please inquire as to how you can be placed with a roommate, or how much it will cost to reserve a cabin on your own. Payments will need to be made in full; the time period for payment plans has expired. Call Absolute Cruise and Travel at (609) 735-0008 to make your reservation or if you have any questions about this cruise.
