Black & White: Two Fun Events in Florida for Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day Weekend traditionally means two colors in the Florida gay community: black and white. In South Florida, black is the color of the weekend, as Gary Santis hosts his 17th annual Black Fort Lauderdale party at The Manor. In Central Florida, the staff of Georgie’s Alibi St. Petersburg are putting on their third annual White Party, and this year there is a new beneficiary. Let me tell you what to expect from both of these parties.

BLACK FORT LAUDERDALE

v3034_011Black Fort Lauderdale is one of the largest gay fetish events in Florida, and thousands of people are expected to pack the gargantuan Manor Complex (2345 Wilton Dr.) on Saturday, September 5. The event begins at 10 p.m. and will warm up throughout the evening with a set spun by DJ Tony Moran, who is not only talented, but a hot piece of eye candy! The later the hour gets, the more surprises there are in store. There will be a number of novelty acts and superstar dancers who will take their turn on stage wowing the crowds. The crowd will go wild for the guest of honor, Sebastian Kross. Kross works for Falcon Studios and he is described as one of the hottest adult video stars out there right now. He will bring extra sexiness to the festivities.

Be sure to dress to impress in your favorite fetish gear. While you can’t go to the event naked, you can get very creative with your costume, so keep it in mind! There is no cover for this event before 11 p.m. Afterwards, a $15 cover will be charged for people arriving between 11 p.m. and midnight, and $20 for everyone arriving after midnight. For more information, call The Manor Complex at (954) 626-0082.

PETERSBURG WHITE PARTY

Georgie’s Alibi St. Petersburg (3100 3rd Ave. N.) is in the middle of organizing their third annual White Party, which will be held this year on Sunday, September 6. The staff at Georgie’s Alibi, WHITE_St-Petewho always give back to the community, thought it was important to showcase a transgender charity this year, so this year’s beneficiary of the White Party is TransAction Florida, an organization overseen by Equality Florida’s Gina Duncan.

“Considering we lost three transgender youth in St. Petersburg recently, not to mention the number of transgender people we’ve lost nationwide this year, we at Georgie’s felt it was very important to extend a helping hand,” manager David Baptista told Hotspots Magazine last week.

Portions of the proceeds raised during White Party will benefit TransAction Florida. There will beBlackWhite_copy4 a charity drag show hosted by Kori Stevens, a raffle featuring items donated from the community, and a silent auction. People who would like to donate directly to TransAction Florida are allowed to do so at the event too. For more information on this event, visit facebook.com/georgiesalibi.
