Our Fund, which connects philanthropists in South Florida with a number of deserving LGBT non-profits, is hosting their fifth annual National LGBT Leadership Forum on Monday, OurFund_logoNovember 9 at 5 p.m. The host venue is the Horvitz Auditorium, adjacent to the NSU Museum of Art (1 E. Las Olas Blvd.), and the theme of this year’s event is “The Strategy After Marriage Equality and the Civil Rights Challenges That Remain.”

Registration begins at 5 p.m., after which a forum will begin, and it will discuss the future of LGBT equality in the wake of the Supreme Court’s favorable decision in Obergefell v. Hodges, legalizing same-sex marriage nationwide. The moderator is philanthropist Mona Pittenger, who also sits on the Our Fund Board of Directors. The panelists featured are Rea Carey, Executive Director of the National LGBTQ Task Force; Kevin Cathcart, Executive Director of Lambda Legal; Nadine Smith, Executive Director of Equality Florida; and Paul Smith, Law Partner at Jenner & Block. Afterwards there will be a reception with complimentary wines and hors d’oeuvres. The evening is sponsored by the Downtown Loft Studio.
