Orchard Supply Hardware Fort Lauderdale will host a special meet and greet with Lee Dahlberg and preview his latest “You Son of a Bench” re-purposed furniture collection in support of The Pride Center at Equality Park on Saturday, December 16 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Shoppers will enjoy refreshments, a gift with purchase and tours of the two-level store.

“Orchard Supply Hardware Fort Lauderdale is excited to host an afternoon of fun, design and philanthropy,” said Victor Rivera, general manager at Orchard Supply Hardware Fort Lauderdale. “This is another great opportunity for us to spotlight local vendors while supporting worthy causes.”

As an artist for more than 20 years, Dahlberg creates strikingly beautiful furniture by taking pieces he finds and re-purposing them into functional art. He says, “Furniture should tell a story. It should be striking and evoke emotion. My work has a soul and it is built to be shared.”

At Orchard Fort Lauderdale, Dahlberg will showcase an assortment of unique furniture such as desks, chairs and dressers. You Son of a Bench will donate 20% of each item sold to The Pride Center.

This partnership with The Pride Center at Equality Park is part of Orchard Supply Hardware’s commitment to neighbors helping neighbors. Since opening one year ago, the store has been supporting local causes such as Friends of Birch State Park, South Florida Symphony, John Offerdahl’s Hand Off Foundation, Deliver the Dream, Kiwanis Wilton Manors, Salvation Army and more to be announced.

“We are thrilled to align with Orchard Supply Hardware that will be helping us landscape our on-campus children’s playground,” said Robert Boo, CEO of The Pride Center at Equality Park. “Thanks to the generosity of Orchard and other businesses we are able to fulfill our mission to provide a safe and nurturing place for the LGBT community.”
