In week three of Season 11 Ru explained the mini challenge would have the girls at the backstage door of a sold out concert in the 90’s. They would have to say whatever they needed to get in. They had 15 minutes to get into all access drag. The winners were Nina West and Ra’jah O’Hara, who each received a $1,500 Gift Card to J.J. Malibu.

The Maxi challenge was “Diva Worship,” where there would be two teams headed by Nina (Silky, Yvie, Vangie, Brooke, Ariel and Mercedes) and Ra’jah (Shuga, Scarlet, Plastique, Honey and A’keria) who would have to star in their own She-Evangelical talk show where they preach to the children about the diva of their choice.

Nina’s team picked Britney Spears and their network’s name was the IBBN (It’s Britney Bitch Network), and Ra’jah’s team picked Mariah Carey and their network was WYB (When You Believe). The theme for the runway was “Fringe,” and the guest judges were Guillermo Diaz and Troye Sivan. Nina’s team were the CLEAR winners and Nina was named the winner of the challenge and received a $3,500 G/C from ISLYNYC. Ra’jah’s team was so bad that for the first time in Drag Race history all six of them had to lip synch for their lives. In the end Honey Davenport sashayed away.

At what age did drag become an interest and how did you pick your name?

I started doing drag at the age of 22. The name Honey came from when I was at a book signing of RuPaul’s and she signed my book to “Honey.”

How many times did you apply to be on RuPaul’s Drag Race? How did it feel when you found out you got chosen?

I applied eight times, which is enough audition tapes to make a feature film. I felt great when I got it—it was a dream come true. I am still really excited.

Tell us about your RuPaul’s Drag Race experience?

It was hard since I was going through a lot of emotional stuff in my life. I was going through marital issues, and I had just become homeless. I was broken down emotionally. I felt like I had a breakdown during filming, but I was so happy that they showed my artistry.

When I got the call I knew it would be a difficult time for me, but you can’t say no when Ru calls.

Is there something you wish you did differently and or is there a certain look you wish we could have all seen?

There are so many looks I wish the world could have seen, but I will be showing those looks so watch out!

What’s your marital status?

I am married in a polyamorous relationship. I have a husband and a boyfriend.

Who do you want to win?

I think that any girl that’s still there deserves the opportunity, but I would love either of my New York sisters to take the crown: Scarlet or Shuga.

Tell us something people would be surprised to know about you.

It’s hard since I am such an open book, however, I think people would be surprised to know I am afraid of rodents.

What’s ahead for Honey?

I’m focusing on my music at this point. I want to create more art that speaks to the world. Art that is not only fun, but makes us think what can we do for each other to make this a better world. I think that’s my brand at its best. Download my music when as it comes out. It’s available on all music streaming platforms.
