Business for the Arts of Broward’s (BFA) 2019 Arts Mean Business Speaker Series continues with a presentation from dancer and choreographer Ron Hutchins on Thursday, October 3 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at General Provision Downtown, 300 SW 1st Ave. in Fort Lauderdale. 

The event is free and open to the public. Please RSVP by September 27 to rvegas@bfabroward.org. Light appetizers and wine will be served at 6 pm followed by the presentation at 6:30 pm.

An acclaimed director and choreographer, Hutchins’ work has been seen internationally and on the stages of some of our nation’s finest regional theatres, such as The Goodman Theatre, Georgia Shakespeare Festival, Arkansas Repertory Theatre, The Cleveland Playhouse and the historic Ford’s Theatre in Washington, D.C. to name a few. Internationally, Hutchins’ work has been presented in the 21st Century Theatre and People’s Theatre with Seven Ages productions in Beijing and Shanghai, China. Hutchins’ South Florida Theatre credits include The Actors’ Playhouse, The Wick Theatre, Broadway Palm, Hard Rock Cafe, Cirque Productions, Miramar Cultural Center and, on the horizon, Lauderhill Performing Arts Center.

A proud member of Stage Directors and Choreographers (SCD), Hutchins is the resident choreographer for the Florida Children’s Theatre, South Plantation High School and Parkway Middle School of the Arts. A passionate educator, Hutchins enjoys teaching Broadway Dance at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. Hutchins is the recipient of three Carbonell Awards, two Silver Palm Awards and a Midot Medal from the Florida JCC Maccabi Games – the highest honor awarded to individuals who embody a value and go beyond from what is expected.

Arts Mean Business with Ron Hutchins is hosted by General Provision Downtown and sponsored by Nova Southeastern University (NSU).
