Bonnet House Museum & Gardens
Summer Special
Bonnet House Museum & Gardens, a historic and whimsical 35-acre subtropical estate located in the heart of Fort Lauderdale, is kicking off the summer season by offering a new Family Summer Special now through Sunday, Sept. 6. The special includes free admission for visitors who are age 17 and under with the purchase of an adult ticket. Tickets for adults are $20. No other discounts apply.
Visitors will enjoy a one-way route around the beautiful estate, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. The tour is entirely a self-guided walking experience. Guests will be required to maintain the social distance of six feet between visitors at all times, except for families currently residing in the same dwelling. As part of the experience, the historic house is also introducing a new mobile tour that will feature recorded information about each room, significant items from the collection and the family that created the estate.
Guests (except children 2 years old and younger) must wear masks/face coverings at all times. Face coverings and water ― in addition to soda, iced tea and ice cream ― will be available for purchase in the Welcome Center or Museum Shop.
The Family Summer Special is available Tuesday through Sunday from 9 a.m.–4 p.m. through Sept. 6, and tickets can be purchased at the Welcome Center. For more information about Bonnet House Museum & Gardens’ Family Summer Special, please visit Bonnethouse.org/event/family-summer-special.
Celebrating its 100-year anniversary in 2020, Bonnet House is a part of Florida’s unique history. It was built in 1920 as the winter retreat of the Birch/Bartlett family, and is a fanciful blend of art, architecture, history and ecology. The 35-acre subtropical estate and historic house museum preserve the natural setting of South Florida, situated on what is one of the last examples of a native barrier island habitat in the region.
