Ru comes in and informs the girls that drag is a sisterhood, but when it comes to throwing some serious shade no one does it better than drag queens. Therefore, the Library is open for the mini challenge, where the girls will be reading each other in 3D glasses. Why, because reading is fundamental!
The shadiest queen, and the winner is, Sister Sister. For the Maxi challenge Ru wants the girls to tune into their new-found strength after lockdown and transform themselves in to Super Sheroes. To create the look, they must use the unconventional materials that are provided. Sister, for winning the mini challenge, got a 15 second head start to rummage through materials.
Joining Ru, Michele and Graham on the runway is TV marvel Maya Jama. The winner and owner of another coveted Rupita badge is A’ Whora, and the bottom two were Tayce and Sister Sister, with Sister Sister sashaying away.
It was a pleasure to sit down with Sister Sister for this exclusive Hotspots interview:
HS: At what age did drag become an interest and how did you pick your name?
SS: It’s strange as I had a lot influences growing up that led me to drag, but I only got into it like 3 years ago.
I have had a few drag names over the years and then I came up with Sister and my comedy partner said if you double it up it sounds cheekier and from that day Sister Sister was born.
HS: How exciting was it to be chosen for the second season of “Drag Race UK”?
SS: I got the call and immediately started crying. As an openly queer person it is the equivalent of being chosen for the drag Olympics.
HS: How hard was it to keep the secret that you were on “Drag Race”?
SS: OMG, the most difficult part of it was lying to people straight to their faces.
HS: Tell us about your “RuPaul’s Drag Race UK” experience?
SS: It’s been a wild ride. I think going into it I had no idea this is what it was going to be like. While there, I saw some of my best friends go home and it makes you realize how resilient you are as a person.
HS: Is there something you wish you had done different?
SS: I wish I would have gone more balls to the walls with my looks, and I wish I would have cared less what people think.
HS: Tell me about your mirror message?
It was a twist on the “Love Your Hair, Hope You Win” the message was “Hope You Lose.” As I am, it was filled with lots of love and lots of hate at the same time…LOL!
HS: What’s your marital status?
SS: I am chronically single.
HS: Who are you closest with from the show?
SS: Ginny Lemon is my absolute ride or die. You know you have a strong relationship with someone, when they send you nudes everyday even though you don’t ask for them!
HS: What’s ahead for?
SS: Do you know what, who knows? Every job of mine was the opposite of the last. Drag was always a hobby, but now I am doing it full time. So now I will be acting like a fool and trying to be validated on a global scale.
