Stewart Milk and The Harvey Milk Foundation presented the prestigious Harvey Milk Medal to one of America’s “lions of LGBTQ+ advocacy” at this weeks Diversity Honors. The event was held at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood as a benefit for the Pride Center at Equality Park. Ramirez has a record of 50 years of activism including working with Harvey Milk in the 1970’s. She is “Queen Mother of the International Court System” one of the world’s most important Drag inspired organizations that launched in the early 1960’s. The first LGBTQ+ person to ever run for public office in the US was a member of the International Court System. While at Diversity Honors I had and exclusive interview with Ramirez of the importance of the Harvey Milk honor, what is happening to the LGBTQ+ community and especially to the drag community at the hands of Florida’s Governor Ron Desantis. Nicole M. Ramirez missed no opportunity to call out Florida and the attacks on the LGBTQ+ community.
