The @OUTshineFilmFestival is a two-week-long LGBTQ+ film festival held annually in South Florida. The opening night party and film, which takes place on Thursday, April 20th at 7 pm, will feature the film “Fairyland,” a Sundance hit that captures the complexities of a father-daughter relationship in San Francisco during the 1970s and 80s. The festival typically receives around 600 film submissions, which are reviewed by a committee of people, including the program director, Joe. The opening night includes acknowledgments for supporters and trailers, followed by the screening of the opening night film. After the film, there will be a party featuring dinner at your seat, which is a new concept this year, and an open bar with desserts available in the Outshine Lounge. The festival is open to everyone, and tickets can be purchased at outshinefilm.com.
