The Arsht Center’s LGBTQ+ Pride celebration returns for its sixth year on June 4th, with festivities in the Thomson Plaza for the Arts. CommuniTEA Dance is a FREE event featuring South Florida’s vibrant LGBTQ+ community with performances and DJs in the heart of downtown Miami!

From 1 to 3pm, guests of all ages are encouraged to explore the event’s Pride Marketplace which spotlights local organizations, artisans, creatives and small businesses. Attendees will also enjoy family-friendly performances, activities for children, storytelling, and sing-alongs.

After 3pm, the event will transform into an 18-and-over tea dance, MC’d by 99JAMZ’s She-J Hercules, featuring tunes by Deejay Smeejay (DJ at Sky Sundays at Esme Hotel, OUTShine Film Festival, Miami Beach Pride), a marketplace, performances by local artists and a rousing show headlined by Martha Wash, the original Weather Girl, platinum-selling recording artist and two-time Grammy Award nominee. Ms. Wash, also known as “The Queen of Clubland” and lauded for her distinctive and dramatic voice, will delight fans with megawatt hits such as “You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real),” “It’s Raining Men,” “Strike It Up,” “Everybody Everybody” and C+C Music Factory’s “Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now),” which hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Join us to enjoy happy-hour food and drinks, express yourself with the arts and learn from our community partners and vendors!
