Saturday, September 2

Arts United presents “Provocative Art Show” as part of the Hotspots/Happening Out Art Gallery with Dennis Dean’s September opening reception. This will be a juried art exhibition with $1,000 cash prizes awarded and featurs 45 artists and 69 + art works. The reception is from 6-9 with the awards at 8pm. The event will also feature live art by Sergio Cabrera with model Damien Lenore as well as the reveal of the 2022/23 Hotspots Magazine’s hottest cover model. This event is free and open to the public.

As part of the 25th anniversary of Gary Santis’ Black Fort Lauderdale, The Manor nightclub presents “Nasty Confessions” starring DJs Ana Paula and Tony Moran in the ballroom, along with performances by TP Lords and spectacular production. Noche Latina Saturdays, now back in the Ivy Dance Room and Patio, presents “Dominame” starring Miss Noche Latina 2023 Kimberly Venom and Mr. Stonewall 2023 Oscar Novva, as well as sexy Latin Go-Go Papi’s and resident DJ Duniel. Doors open at 11pm and admission is only $10 before 12 for Florida residents.

Sunday, September 3

Hunters Nightclub’s famous Sunday T opens early (at 3pm) in honor of Labor Day and features 2 DJs Richie Rich and Sol. As always, no cover and lots of fun!

Gary Santis Events presents the main event of the 25th anniversary of Black Fort Lauderdale at The Manor Complex. The anniversary party features DJ Paulo with doors opening at 11pm. Thursday, September 7

Tonight, is the monthly Pride Skate (first Thursday of the month) at Xtreme Action Park (5300 Powerline Road, Ft laud) from 7-10pm, and this month it’s a Labor Day theme. The night will star Velvet LeNore, DJ Tpro, a full liquor bar and lots of fun! Pride Skate Nights are a benefit for Stonewall Pride.

Pride Fort Lauderdale presents their monthly Drag Bingo, this month entitled “Pride Pets Bingo” and is hosted by TP Lords and London Adour at The Pride Center at Equality Park. Seating is at 5:30 with daubers up at 6:30pm. This is a 21 and up event.

Friday, September 8

Boca Black Box (8221 Glades Road, Suite #10, Boca Raton) presents Americas Got Talent’s finalist, Comedian Mike Winfield. His comedy is refreshing & relatable in a way that makes him a comedic genius. Hailing from Baltimore, MD, Mike E. moved to California to pursue comedy & to escape the rough streets of Baltimore, remembering how he found a gun under his mom’s pillow as a child, & thought, “I can’t wait for my teeth to fall out.” Mikey will also be at Boca Black Box on Saturday; both nights at 7 and 9pm.  Admission: $32.50, $37.50 (Front Orchestra & VIP).

Aqua Foundation, by and for LGBTQ Women present TransCon 2023 from 10am to 6pm at the Scott Galvin Community Center (1600 Northeast 126th Street in North Miami). TransCon is a FREE conference for the South Florida transgender and non-binary community, put together by the trans/non-binary community. For more information go to: aquafoundation.org.

Ronnie Larson presents “Bruce Vilanch Week,” a very special four-day fundraiser starting tonight for Plays of Wilton. Hollywood legend, gay icon, Broadway star, one of the Hollywood Squares, joke writer for the Academy Awards and for a young Bette Midler as well, Bruce is truly a one-of-a-kind as well as one of the funniest men on the planet. The week begins this afternoon with a pool party from 1 to 5pm at the beautiful home of Charlie Horton, owner of the popular nightclubs, Le Boy and yes, lots of Charlie’s performers will be there and Stoli Vodka is even sponsoring the pool party! Then on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights Bruce will be hosting The Penis Talk Show at The Foundry. This hilarious long running show features naked men, some of which are porn stars, and they get interviewed about the details of their sex lives. The audience gets to ask any questions they want. Tonight, and tomorrow, the Hard Rock Live at The Seminole Hardrock Hotel and Casino Hollywood presents Sting in his “My Songs” concert, which is an exuberant and dynamic show featuring his most beloved songs, written throughout the 17-time GRAMMY Award winner’s illustrious career both with “The Police” and as a solo artist. As a way to elevate the discourse on new media in Miami, Oolite Arts will launch a new salon series this fall featuring Miami-based artists and their work at the intersection of art and technology. Oolite Arts’ Media Art Salon Series will showcase artists’ work in progress while also curating a critical dialogue on art, technology and the human experience. The first, is today and is entitled “Generative Generosity,” exploring the ways artists are drawing inspiration from open-source technologies and features an interactive installation created with a new open-source, robotics toolkit. “Generative Generosity” and additional salons will take place at Oolite Arts’ Satellite Space, 7297 NW 2nd Ave. For more information go to: Oolitearts.org/
