The HOTspots Happening Out Art Gallery With Dennis Dean, is delighted to announce the addition of Kedna Ashly to the team as the new Art Director Apprentice. In line with the gallery’s commitment to creating a safe haven for the LGBTQ+ community, the Apprenticeship Program aims to empower queer artists. The HOTspots Happening Out Art Gallery With Dennis Dean is the sole national gallery showcasing LGBTQ+ artwork year-round. The program provides comprehensive training in curation and the responsibilities of an Art Director. Mrs. Ashly is set to commence her role during the gallery’s Black History Month Exhibit in February, the Opening Reception on February 3, and the gallery’s Women’s History Month Exhibit in March, reinforcing the commitment to diverse and inclusive representation. As a queer woman of color, Ashly’s appointment not only contributes to the gallery’s mission but also adds a valuable perspective to the team, enriching the cultural tapestry of the space. Kedna Ashly is a self-taught digital artist based in South Florida who crafts artwork that shares personal experiences, lessons, unique expressions, and perspectives on life.
