At the 35th GLAAD Media Awards, RuPaul’s Drag Race star Michelle Visage shared her experience parenting a queer child. Encouraging parents to embrace their children’s identities, she expressed pride in her child’s journey “I have a queer child who is basically transitioning and for me it was matter of allowing yourself grace to realise this is not the child you thought you were getting and it’s an even better child”. Visage, set to host RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under, spoke passionately about the LGBTQ+ community’s significance, affirming her commitment to advocacy. The event also celebrated achievements in media, with Reneé Rapp, Oprah Winfrey, and Baldur’s Gate 3 among the honorees.
