Hunters Nightclub and The Rapha Center are excited to announce CODE RED: A Cocktail and Awards Fundraiser Reception. This event is deeply rooted in raising awareness of the HIV epidemic, standing in solidarity with those impacted by the virus, and raising crucial funds for health and wellness services. The night is hosted by NBC 6’s Jamie Guirola and Hotspots Happening OUT’s FayWhat?!
They invite you to wear your best red attire and come together for a night of unity, remembrance, and empowerment on December 7, starting at 6:30pm. The event will feature live performances and entertainment featuring Emmy award-winning Latrice Royale, from RuPauls’ Drag Race, Drag Race All Stars and recently HBO’s We’re Here. I asked Latrice her thoughts on being a part of Code Red and she said: “I’m so excited to be a part of this event. Terry Dyer has been trying to include me in events before, but it hasn’t worked out until now. And I’m so glad it’s for such a good cause. Not only are we raising funds, but we’re going to raise the ROOF! LOL And we’re going to look damn good doing it, too. So many events leave the fashion to the queens, but for this occasion, I’m really looking forward to seeing what red LEWKS everyone is serving. Between myself, and the rest of this beautiful cast of entertainers, this is going to be top notch. Now what am I going to wear?!?!?”
In addition, there will be performances by sexy muscle bear Jonathan Casanas, LeNora Jaye, and Franser Pazos. The keynote speaker will be from activist Phil Wilson.
“Living a healthy life involves making choices that nurture your body, mind, and spirit. When it comes to HIV prevention, prioritizing safe practices, staying informed, and fostering open conversations are essential. Healthy living means respecting both yourself and others, with prevention rooted in understanding that true wellness combines responsibility, knowledge, and self-care. Code Red encapsulates all of this and we are excited for this year’s revamped event.” – Justin Jones, Co-founder and Executive Director of The Rapha Center of Miami.
Code Red is an opportunity to honor local community leaders who are making a difference by providing resources and services to the most marginalized and vulnerable members of society. The event will also include delicious hors d’oeuvres and an open bar with an incredible opportunity to support a vital cause.
Code Red would not be possible without the wonderful support from organizations and partners: They are: Hunters Nightclub, The Rapha Center, The Our Fund Foundation, Mayfaire Medical, Xrx Pharmacy, Building Equity Through Advocacy HTPN 360, American Exchange, Walgreens, Todd’s Catering, Pridelines, Aaron’s Cremation and Funeral, Gilead, ViiV Healthcare, OutSFL, Hotspots Happening Out, FlockFest, SFBW, Marriott Ft. Lauderdale, Be Fehr Counseling, and Empower Youth Fund.
I asked Terry Dyer, who is a consultant for the Rapha Center, what his thoughts on the red Gala are, and he said: “We are thrilled to present this revitalized CODE RED Reception on behalf of The Rapha Center to the South Florida community. Building on the success of their previous events and the nationally renowned Red Dress-themed gatherings rooted in raising awareness of the HIV epidemic, joining forces was a natural choice. Funds raised will continue supporting services and resources provided by the center. Guests can look forward to a lavish and elegant red-carpet experience, top notch food and beverages, complete with exceptional entertainment and the celebration of our local community leaders.”
The Rapha Center’s mission is to reduce the number of newly reported HIV diagnoses. The organization does this through prevention, social services, and health and wellness. Each year, The Rapha Center provides services and resources that include food drives for families, backpacks for students, linkage to healthcare, town halls, support groups, and much more.
