Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Khalid was overcome with emotion during his performance at the WorldPride DC 2025 Free Street Festival & Closing Concert. For the first time, the 26-year-old artist took the Pride stage, and it moved him to tears. He was visibly emotional as cheers and chants of his name echoed across the street.
Khalid told the crowd,
“These are happy tears. This is my first time performing at Pride. This is my first time being at Pride. Y’all got me choked up, oh my god.”
Fans in the audience captured the heartfelt moment, showing Khalid wiping away tears mid-performance. Backstage, Khalid reportedly continued to cry as he met fans, clearly overwhelmed by the love and solidarity. Khalid was publicly outed last November through an online dispute with a former partner. Khalid’s new single, ‘All I Know’ featuring Rudimental, is out now on all major streaming platforms.
