Get ready for a fabulous fashion crossover! RuPaul’s Drag Race star Utica Queen, known offstage as Ethan Mund, is trading the Werk Room for the workroom. She’s just been announced as one of the designers on Project Runway Season 21. Utica made a big impression back in Season 13 of Drag Race, from that unforgettable sleeping-bag couture at the Bag Ball, to her quirky offbeat humor, lipsync surprises, and yes, that moment RuPaul flipped her off during the Roast. Now, she’s stepping into a whole new challenge, this time as a designer competing among 11 other fashion creatives.

“This moment marks the first ever Drag Race crossover onto Project Runway, and that’s not lost on me. It’s more than a look, it’s a symbol…A symbol of how far our art form has come, of how the worlds of fashion and drag continue to grow, influence, and uplift each other.”
The season will also see the return of fashion icon Heidi Klum as head judge, joined by Nina Garcia and Law Roach, who Drag Race fans may recognize from the judging panel. And that’s not all — expect appearances from big-name guest judges like Sofia Vergara, Tyra Banks, Zac Posen, and Michael Kors. Utica joins a cast that includes past contestants and fresh faces alike, including twin designers Antonio and Jesus Estrada.
