Two fierce Survivor queens have just made a herstory! Katurah Topps and Sabiyah Broderick—both castaways from the 45th season of Survivor—have announced they’re officially a couple. And in doing so, they’ve become the first Black queer women couple in the history of the long-running CBS franchise. The duo shared the news on Instagram with a joint post, along with sweet photos and a caption that read:
“On Survivor, we both struggled with fire… I couldn’t make it, and she went a week without it. But what we’ve built together? That’s a fire that finally lit itself! From Players to Partners, from Castmates to Co-dreamers… Meet Survivor’s FIRST Black Queer Woman Couple.”
Fans and fellow alums lit up the comments. Austin Li Coon shouted
“HARD LAUNCH!!!”
While Survivor veteran Eliza Orlins cheered,
“SO BEYOND HAPPY FOR YOU TWO AND FOR YOUR LOVE!!!!”
And Season 47’s Teeny Chirichillo, who came out as trans this year, added,
“You know I’m so obsessed.”
Topps and Broderick began on different tribes in Fiji—Belo and Lulu—and never even shared the same beach. Yet somehow, love survived. As Survivor prepares for its 50th season in 2026, these two have already won the game that matters most—love.
