Plays of Wilton (POW!) will bring free, live theater to South Florida with a special performance of The Boys in the Band by Mart Crowley. The production will take place indoors at Richardson Park in Wilton Manors as part of the new POW! in the Park initiative, in collaboration with the City of Wilton Manors and The Warten Foundation.
The play will feature Michael, a New Yorker, hosting a birthday party for his friend Harold. As the drinks flow, humor turns sharp, and a party game reveals long-buried truths among the group of gay friends. This bold and iconic work will be staged from August 29, aiming to make powerful theater accessible to all.
With this launch, POW! in the Park sets out to create a vibrant space for storytelling, inclusion, and community connection. POW! in the Park is a new initiative that aims to bring free theater to South Florida residents. Admission is completely free, and audiences can reserve their tickets and get updates at PowInThePark.com.
