Miss Major Griffin-Gracy, the trailblazing transgender activist who fought for more than half a century for “Black trans women, trans women of color, and those who have survived incarceration and police brutality,” died Monday at 78. The House of GG said she passed “in the comfort of her home and surrounded by loved ones in Little Rock, Arkansas.” From Stonewall to founding the House of GG, Miss Major’s “resilience, activism, and dedication” reshaped LGBTQ justice. The Human Rights Campaign called her “a pillar in our community.”
