Cheers erupted as Zohran Mamdani took the stage at Brooklyn’s Elsewhere during queer art collective Papi Juice’s Halloween bash. Mamdani told the crowd, “I just want to say such a deep thank you to Papi Juice for creating a space for queer and trans New Yorkers.”
The frontrunner for New York City mayor hit six Brooklyn venues, including Mood Ring. He also joined Cynthia Nixon and Justin Vivian Bond at Meow Mix’s 30th anniversary in the East Village on October 25, pledging stronger gender-affirming care and LGBTQIA+ support. Polls show Mamdani, who would be NYC’s first Muslim mayor, holding a strong lead.
