Equality Florida is marking a major transition after 28 years of visionary leadership. Co-founder and Executive Director Nadine Smith will step down in January 2026 to become President and CEO of Color Of Change, the nation’s largest online racial justice organization. The group says it is “profoundly grateful for her decades of courage, innovation, and unwavering commitment to building a better future for all LGBTQ Floridians.” The Board of Directors has named longtime co-founder Stratton Pollitzer as the organization’s next CEO and Executive Director. Stratton is expected to lead Equality Florida into what the group calls a strong new era of determination and advocacy. As the community honors Nadine’s trailblazing legacy, Equality Florida invites supporters to share farewell messages and make a special celebratory gift. More details available at Eqfl.org.
