Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene says she’ll resign her Georgia House seat on January 5, 2026, following a public break with Donald Trump. Greene angered Trump after she voted to release the Department of Justice’s Jeffrey Epstein files. She says Trump supporters have since threatened her life. She wrote, “I have too much self respect and dignity… and do not want my sweet district to have to endure a hurtful and hateful primary against me.” Greene leaves behind a record of extreme anti-LGBTQ+ attacks, including targeting trans youth, slurring trans officials, and spreading conspiracy theories that have long alarmed queer Americans.
