YouTuber and podcast host Trisha Paytas says she plans to run for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in California. In a YouTube video and on her podcast Just Trish, Paytas outlined her goals for 2026, including a congressional run. She said, “I would maybe like to run for Congress. I think I can do at least [the] House of Representatives thing. I want that one…I am being so serious about it.
I have to look into it….there’s stupider people in Congress.” Paytas said she would self-fund her campaign and begin organizing soon. If elected, she would become the first publicly non-binary member of California’s House delegation. One issue she highlighted was age limits in adult content. She said, “I really want to do a law that makes it illegal to do adult work if you’re not 25.” California’s congressional election is set for November 3, 2026, with a filing deadline of March 6.
