The Netherlands has sworn in Rob Jetten as prime minister, marking a milestone moment for LGBTQ+ representation. The 38-year-old centrist leads a coalition formed after snap elections followed the collapse of Dick Schoof’s government. Jetten’s rise drew attention for both his campaign and his visibility as an openly gay leader. His fiancé, hockey player Nicolás Keenan, told PinkNews: “Dutch people are ready for a new energy… people are really looking forward to his cycle as a prime minister.” Jetten’s government will require opposition support to govern.
