Ride-hailing company Uber is facing renewed scrutiny after a Hispanic teen living in Texas alleged he was removed from a ride due to perceived sexual orientation. The TikToker, @alexdiarieslive, posted a viral video where the driver says, “I’m going to call the police right now, or leave.”

After exiting the cab, the teen said: “As soon as I said ‘hello good morning’ with a little fucking gay in my voice that’s when he said ‘oh you’ve got to leave my car.” The video has over 3.4 million views and around about 2500 comments, including one from the official Uber TikTok account, saying the company does not tolerate discrimination and is actively reviewing this incident. However, in a follow-up, the teen claimed, “Uber has done nothing… every time I try reporting him, they close the chat.”
