After appearing more feminine out of drag in the announcement video of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 11, some viewers questioned whether she had come out as a trans woman. One comment said, “Is Morphine trans cause oh my god that’s a woman.”

Morphine, however, has repeatedly stated that she identifies as non-binary, leaning toward the feminine side, and uses they/them/her pronouns. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, she said, “I’m comfortable with myself now, and I don’t think it’s cute to force or pressure someone into transitioning.
