In a recent Instagram Reel, Dolly Parton told fans she had “some good news and a little bad news,” explaining that she is improving but still needs time to heal. The post read: “The good news is I’m responding really well to meds and treatments, and I’m improving every day…Now, the bad news is that it’s gonna take me a little while before I’m up to stage performance level because some of the meds and treatments make me a little swimmy-headed.”
Parton, who turned 80 in January, also referenced the recent death of her husband, Carl Thomas Dean, thanking fans for helping her through a year of firsts without him. She said the residency, rescheduled for September 2026, has now been canceled.
